World Mental Health Day

To mark World Mental Health Day on 9 October, children across the school took part in a range of activities linked to this year’s theme, ‘Lived experiences heard. Real voices, real change.’
We welcomed Lisa from the Groundworks Mental Health Team, who led a special mental health and wellbeing assembly in which children explored why it is as important to look after their mental health and wellbeing as it is their physical health. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, pupils developed their understanding of emotional health, learned ways to recognise and talk about their feelings, and discussed how they can support both themselves and others.
The assembly encouraged children to remember that it is okay to talk about their feelings, to seek help when they need it, and to show kindness and understanding towards others. It was a valuable opportunity to promote positive mental wellbeing and reinforce the importance of healthy minds to help us learn, grow and be our best.
